The Journey to First Place Participating in the Disabled Photographers Society competitions has always been a rewarding experience. Each quarter, the society brings together photographers with diverse backgrounds and unique perspectives. This competition has not only helped me grow as a photographer but also allowed me to connect with others who share the same passion. My journey to first place was filled with numerous photo sessions, editing marathons, and moments of self-doubt. But every click of the shutter and every minute spent perfecting my shots was worth it. Seeing my work appreciated by the judges and the community is truly gratifying.

The Journey to First Place

Participating in the Disabled Photographers Society competitions has always been a rewarding experience.

The Winning Shot

I was thrilled to win with a photograph that holds a special place in my heart. It was taken at the Barry Island fun fair, and it captures the excitement of a ride that stands at an impressive 200 feet, or approximately 60 meters, tall. Despite my comfort with working at heights, I couldn't bring myself to go on the ride, so I opted to capture the bravery of those who did instead. The photograph perfectly captures the thrill and exhilaration of the fair, and I'm proud to have it as my winning entry.

The Prize and Future Plans

Winning the competition came with an exciting prize - a £100.00 voucher from Vanguard, the main sponsor of the event. Vanguard's support for photographers, especially those with disabilities, is commendable. Their high-quality gear and accessories have always been a part of my photography toolkit, and I'm looking forward to upgrading some of my equipment with this voucher.

As I celebrate this win, I'm also planning for the future. There are more competitions to enter, more photos to take, and more stories to tell through my lens. The support from the Disabled Photographers Society and Vanguard continues to fuel my passion and drive for excellence. I can't wait to share more of my work with you all!

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way, and a huge shoutout to Vanguard for their generous sponsorship. Here's to more captures, more wins, and more moments frozen in time.

This year has been an incredible journey for me as a photographer. I'm thrilled to share that I have taken first place for the second time this year in the quarterly Disabled Photographers Society Open Competition! It's an honor to be recognized among so many talented photographers, and this win means even more because of the incredible support from the community and the main sponsor, Vanguard.

First Place in the DPS quarterly competition for the second time this year.
